29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with paragraph (b) or (c) of this section: a) East Market Street and Progress Ave, Pottsville PA; Employees were installing a 48 inch plastic storm water line in a 8 foot 6 inch deep excavation without the use of shoring, on or about 07/10/2013. b) East Market Street and Progress Ave, Pottsville PA - Water valve area; Employees were installing a water valve in a 5 foot 6 inch deep excavation without the use of shoring, on or about 07/10/2013. Mazzuca Enterprises, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.652(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 314155573, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 06/11/2010, with respect to a workplace located at 313 South Tulpehocken Street, Pine Grove, PA 17963.
