29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): "Steep roofs." Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. On or about July 26, 2013, at 8290 N. Dixie Drive, Dayton, a retail store with multiple roof pitch structures, an employee was exposed to a 12 ft. fall hazard while installing shingles on a 8/12 pitch roof without utilizing any fall protection. Advanced Roofing, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number331254, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on May 10, 2012, with respect to a workplace located at 6975 Springfarm Ct. Centerville, OH 45459.
