29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use: a.) Sensus USA, Inc., Chemistry Lab area, 10 Dock Street Dubois, PA, on or about August 7th, 2013, and times prior thereto: Company employees were working with and around corrosive chemicals, including, but not limited to Nitric Acid. An emergency eye wash and safety shower was not available in the chemistry lab area that was in compliance with ANSI 358.1-1998 for Emergency Eyewash and Shower Equipment in that: 1. An emergency eyewash and safety shower station that provides at least 15 minutes of flushing fluid to the eyes and/or body was not available in close proximity for company employees who work with and around corrosive chemicals during chemical titration's and conductivity measures with Nitric acid. 2. The emergency eyewash and safety shower station located next to the Deoxidizer LNC/Metalast large dip tank area was not activated weekly to verify proper operations. Weekly inspections of the equipment were not conducted.
