29 CFR 1926.503(a)(2): The employer did not assure that each employee exposed to fall hazards was trained by a competent person qualified in the areas specified in 29 CFR 1926.503 (a)(2)(i) through (viii) a-989 East Avenue, Mantoloking NJ: A company employee, who did not receive fall protection training from a competent person, was exposed to fall hazards of approximately 11 feet 8 inches to the ground surface below when performing roof shingle replacement, and other related activities, from an awning with a pitch of approximately 8 on 12. Condition observed on or about 07/29/13. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
