29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level were not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) Sub-contractor's employees were working from a flat roof of a school building with no form of fall protection exposing them to a fall hazard of approximately 30 feet, on or about 08/13/13. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. For the purposes of this inspection, this employer was determined to be the controlling employer of the jobsite. The employer is being cited under OSHA's Multi-Employer Workplace Policy.
