29 CFR 1926.1053(a)(7): Ladders were tied or fastened together to provide longer sections that were not specifically designed for such use: (a)CRG Painting at 8008 Montview Blvd., Denver, CO 80220: The employer tied a 40 foot and a 10 foot aluminum step ladder together to provide a longer ladder to reach the upper areas of the exterior portions of an apartment building. This condition exposed the employees to a fall hazard of approximately 45 feet.

The program shall enable each employee to recognize hazards related to ladders and stairways, and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed to minimize these hazards: (a)CRG Painting at 8008 Montview Blvd., Denver, CO 80220: The employer did not conduct training to enable the employees to recognize hazards related to ladders. This condition exposed to the employees to hazards associated with ladder use to include but not limited to fall hazards.
