29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment was not used when necessary whenever hazards capable of causing injury and impairment were encountered: a) Laboratory - On or about 11/5/13, employee's torsos and legs were exposed to liquid splash from a 20% sodium hydroxide solution, with a pH of approximately 14, when moving the beaker and working with this caustic liquid. Employees were not wearing an appropriate chemical resistant apron covering their torsos and legs. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

Plant - On or about 9/24/13, an employee was observed eating food near the copper plater at Mill 5. The copper plater contains 45 - 59% sulfuric acid, a toxic material. Employees should not be allowed to consume food or beverages in any area exposed to a toxic material. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
