29 CFR 1910.23(c)(1): Open-sided floors and/or platforms four feet or more above adjacent floor or ground level were not guarded with standard railings (or equivalent) and toeboards: On or about 9/4/2013, the employer did not ensure employees were protected from falling into an approximately 9 foot deep storm water separation pit when performing cleaning operations of the separation systems mechanical equipment. Approximately three times per week an employee must enter inside the guardrails surrounding the pit to clean the skimmer and other mechanical equipment used to clean the storm water.
