29 CFR 1926.453(b)(2)(v): A body belt was not worn and/or a lanyard was not attached to the boom or basket when working from an aerial lift. Note: As of January 1, 1998, subpart M of this part (1926.502(d)) provides that body belts are not acceptable as part of a personal fall arrest system. The use of a body belt in a tethering system or in a restraint system is acceptable and is regulated. a) 15 Freedom Boulevard - An employee cutting and caulking windows from a Snorkelift aerial lift (model No. TB-A8ORDZ) was exposed to a fall hazard of approximately forty (40) feet without the use of a personal fall arrest system or personal fall restraint system. Observed on or about September 24, 2013. b) 15 Freedom Boulevard - An employee cutting and caulking windows from a 860SJ aerial lift (Serial IA344) was exposed to a fall hazard of approximately forty (40) feet without the use of a personal fall arrest system or personal fall restraint system. Observed on or about September 24, 2013. Old Philadelphia Associates, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (1926.453(b)(2)(v)), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 314719634, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on (September 1, 2010), with respect to a workplace located at 300 E. Mermaid Avenue, Wyndmoor, PA 19038.
