29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system: a) On or about November 14, 2013, employees of Carin Construction, LLC. were exposed to fall hazards in excess of 9 feet while engaged in roofing activities on the roof of a residential building with no fall protection in place. Abatement Note: Abatement certification and documentation is required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet"). Carin Construction, LLC. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 279743, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on March 28, 2010 with respect to a workplace located at 5700 Sandbar, Fort Collins, CO 80524.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to upper landing surfaces, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladders were used to gain access: a) On or about November 14, 2013, Carin Construction,LLC., did not ensure that portable ladders, used to access upper landing surfaces, extend at least 3 feet above the upper landing surface to which the ladders were used to gain access. Workers were observed using a ladder to access the roof of a residential building. Ladder did not extend at least 3 ft above the landing platform and was not tied to the roof edge. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").
