29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: a) On November 26, 2013, and times prior thereto, at the Rincon facility, the employer failed to provide effective information and training on the relative hazards of acetone, exposing employees to fire hazards, and health hazards including skin/eye and respiratory tract irritation, among others. b) On November 26, 2013, and times prior thereto, at the Rincon facility, the employer failed to provide effective information and training on the relative hazards of various chemicals used when performing maintenance duties in the workplace, exposing employees numerous hazards listed on safety data sheets. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS NOT REQUIRED
