Roof- Employees working from the roof were exposed to a fall of approximately 20 feet where fall protection was not utilized.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: a. Site- Employees accessing the roof from a Werner aluminum extension ladder were exposed to a fall hazard where the ladder only extended approximately 18 inches above the landing surface. RCH Roofing Corporation was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard which was contained in OSHA inspection number 313800427, citation number 01, item number 01, issued on July 12, 2010, with respect to a workplace located at 323 Turnpike Street, Canton, MA 02021. The final order date for the citation was on September 1, 2010.
