HP Construction was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 799221, citation number 01, item number 001 and was affirmed as a final order on January 17, 2013, with respect to a workplace located at 3180 Hidden Creek, El Paso, TX 79938.

29 CFR 1926.405(g)(2)(iii): The repair splice in a hard service flexible cord No. 12 or larger did not retain the insulation, outer sheath properties, and usage characteristics of the cord which was being used:     On or about December 6, 2013, on the right side of the house under construction, employees were using a 100-foot orange/black 14-AWG (2.08mm2) extension cord that had been repaired (spliced) after being cut in half and was significantly altered because of the repair. Employees were exposed to shock hazards.
