OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushed-by and/or struck-by hazards by steel arches: 256 Marginal Street, East Boston - Boston Bridge & Steel, Inc. - Shop 1: On or about December 9, 2013 and at times prior thereto, employees were exposed to crushed-by and/or struck-by hazards while performing tasks such as cleaning, striping, taping, and spray painting four steel bridge arch beams weighing approximately 12030 pounds each. The employer failed to provide proper support for the arches on the concrete floor and the stability of the arches was not maintained. An employee was fatally injured when one of the arches fell and crushed him.
