29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment was not used when necessary whenever hazards capable of causing injury and impairment were encountered: (a) Compounding area- Employees were exposed to skin irritation and burns while dumping bags of Polycal OS325 containing calcium oxide (lime) into mixing tanks in the compounding area without wearing gloves. The MSDS for the Polycal OS325 states that prolonged contact can irritate or burn skin especially in the presence of moisture. Per the MSDS signs and symptoms include red sun burned skin.
