29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv): Flexible cords and/ or cables were used for purposes prohibited by paragraphs (A) through (F) of 29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv). A flexible extension cord, for the fluorescent lighting in the flammable storage room, was used as a substitute for fixed wiring, run through a hole in the ceiling, and attached to building surfaces outside of the room.

29 CFR 1910.307(c): Equipment, wiring methods, and installations of equipment in hazardous (classified) locations were not intrinsically safe, approved for the hazardous (classified) location, or safe for the hazardous (classified) location. Open fluorescent lighting and associated wiring, located in the flammable storage room, was not approved for the Class 1, Division II location. Class 1B flammables including, but not limited to 55 gallons of acetone and containers of clear coat were stored and transferred to other containers in the storage room.
