29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where the eyes or body of any person may be exposed to injurious corrosive materials, adequate facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use: 1) On December 18, 2013, and at prior times, the eye wash station in the lab was not functional. No other suitable facilities for flushing of the eyes were provided. Employees in the area work with corrosive chemicals such as caustic soda. CHAE ORGANICS WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 896618, CITATION NUMBER 1, ITEM NUMBER 3, ISSUED ON MAY 14, 2013 WITH RESPECT OT A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT 5218 INDIAN CREEK ROAD, LA VETA CO. Abatement Note: Abatement certification and documentation is required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").
