29 CFR 1910.36(d)(1): Employee(s) were not able to open an exit route door from the inside at all times without keys, tools, or special knowledge: In main warehouse: On or about January 23, 2014, and at times prior thereto, employees were exposed to lack of emergency egress during hazardous conditions such as fire and smoke inhalation by working in a building with emergency exits locked: (a) On the Northeast section of the building, emergency exit has a metal gate that is locked, preventing evacuation in case of an emergency. (b) On the East section of the building, emergency exit has a metal gate that is locked, preventing evacuation in case of an emergency. (c) On the Southeast section of the building, emergency exit has a metal gate that is locked, preventing evacuation in case of an emergency. (d) On the East section of the building, emergency exit has a metal gate that is locked, preventing evacuation in case of an emergency. Espino Tire & Wheel was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29CFR1910.36(d), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 938032, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on October 8, 2013, with respect to a workplace located at 7046 San Pedro Ave, San Antonio, TX 78216.
