The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration was previously cited for a violation of this standard which was contained in OSHA inspection no. 309097293 citation 2, item 1A, issued on April 27, 2014 with respect to a workplace at Seattle, Washington.

29 CFR 1910.134(c)(2)(i): Respirator users were not provided with the information contained in Appendix D to 29 CFR 1910.134 when the employer determined that any voluntary respirator use was permissible:   a)                    Building 8, Welding Shop; Employees voluntarily used a North 7190N99 elastomeric respirator, and they were not given a copy of the information in Appendix D by the employer.  b)                   Building 8, Potting Shop, PMEL Machine Shop;  Employees voluntarily used a 3M 8576 NIOSH P95 dust mask respirator, and they were not given a copy of the information in Appendix D by the employer.   c)                    Building 32, Machine Shop; Employees voluntarily used a AO Safety N9504C N95 dust mask respirator, and they were not given a copy of the information in Appendix D by the employer.
