29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE): Location: Building 13, mechanical room exhaust fans On or about 2/18/14, the employer did not perform a hazard assessment related to hazardous fumes generated in the mechanical rooms from the exhaust fans drain ports left open that exhaust the building's lab hoods. The hazard assessment would determine if implementing measures such as, but not limited to, mechanical ventilation/ engineering controls, respiratory protection, administrative controls, or other personal protective equipment is required.
