29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems: The employer does not ensure that employees are protected from falling while engaged in steel erection activities at heights greater than fifteen feet. This violation occurred on or about January 31, 2014, when employees were exposed to a fall hazard while installing metal sheeting on a roof that was 15 to 40 feet tall without fall protection. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that all employees performing steel erection activities are protected from falling.
