29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems:      (1) On or about March 26, 2014, at a job site located at 1751 NW 38th Street, Building #5, in Kansas City, MO, two workers were exposed to fall hazards in that they were on an open-sided deck over 6 feet above the ground without being tied-off.  Also, on that same date and at that same location, two other employees were observed to have climbed outside of a guardrail system to load/unload materials on the blades of a rough terrain forklift.  They were also more than 6 feet above the ground.      Abatement certification is required for this Item.  Use the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET for this purpose.    NOTE:  IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM.  FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1,000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
