29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system: a) Residential jobsite: On March 31, 2014 and at times prior thereto employees performed framing activities without a fall protection system in place. Employees were exposed to a 19 foot fall hazard to the ground below. b) Residential jobsite: On March 31, 2014 and at times prior thereto employees were exposed to a 10 foot fall hazard to the floor below when working on and accessing the second floor level. A fall protection system was not in place at the open sided floor near the ladder access. Note: Abatement certification AND documentation are required for this item.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(2)(iii): The employer did not assure that each employee had been trained, as necessary, by a competent person qualified in the use and operation of guardrail systems, personal fall arrest systems, safety net systems, warning line systems, safety monitoring systems, controlled access zones, and other protection to be used: a) Residential jobsite: On March 31, 2014 and at times prior thereto employees did not recognize or acknowledge the hazard of performing sheathing activities on a 6 in 12 pitched roof without a fall protection system in place. Appropriate actions to minimize the hazard were not taken. b) Residential jobsite: On March 31, 2014 and at times prior thereto employees did not recognize or acknowledge the hazard of walking and working near an open sided floor, and take appropriate actions to minimize the hazard. Note: Abatement certification AND documentation are required for this item.
