29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): "Roofing work on Low-slope roofs." Except as otherwise provided in paragraph (b) of this section, each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs, with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system.      The employer does not protect employees from falling when working 6 feet or more above lower levels. This violation occurred on or about April 1, 2014, on the low slope roof of a warehouse where employees were exposed to unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above a lower level while performing roofing work without a fall protection system.       Sam's Roofing LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.760 (a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 314929456, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on April 28, 2011, with respect to a workplace located at 3901 36th Avenue NW, Norman, Oklahoma.    Sam's Roofing LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 314927765, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on December 1, 2010, with respect to a workplace located at 10900 S. Pennsylvania Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.    Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that employees are protected from unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more about a lower level.
