Construction Reference: 1926.59  NOTE: The requirements applicable to construction work under this section are identical to those set forth at � 1910.1200 of this chapter.    29 CFR 1910.1200(g)(1): Employers did not have a safety data sheet in the workplace for each hazardous chemical which they use.    a) The employer did not ensure that a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for each hazardous chemical used for masonry work was available in the work place.  The employer did not have SDS documents for hazardous chemicals including but not limited to Lafarge Type S Mortar Cement (contains Portland Cement; Calcium Carbonate; Calcium Hydroxide; Calcium sulfate; Magnesium Oxide; Calcium Oxide; and Crystalline Silica) and Endicott Clay Products Face Brick (contains Aluminium silicates; Quartz; Iron-, Titanium-, Magnesium-, Calcium-, Barium-, Manganese- and Iron compounds).

Construction Reference: 1926.59 NOTE: The requirements applicable to construction work under this section are identical to those set forth at � 1910.1200 of this chapter    29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(3)(iii): Employee training did not include the measures employees can take to protect themselves from chemical hazards, including specific procedures the employer had implemented to protect employees from exposure to hazardous chemicals, such as appropriate work practices, emergency procedures and personal protective equipment to be used:    a) The employer did not provide employee(s) with training regarding the measures they can take to protect themselves against the health hazards of workplace chemicals.   Employee(s) were exposed to fresh mortar with pH 12-13 when mixing Lafarge Type S Mortar Cement without wearing protective eye equipment (safety glasses).
