29 CFR 1910.23(c)(3): Regardless of height, open-sided floors, walkways, platforms, or runways above or adjacent to dangerous equipment, pickling or galvanizing tanks, degreasing units, and similar hazards were not guarded with a standard railing and toe board.  Travis Bowling Alley: The walking/working platform above the AMF Bowling Machines had one foot by three foot openings between each of the 32 bowling machines where belt and pulley drives operated without warning and could cause serious amputation injuries if an employee fell through one of these spaces.  The U.S. Air Force - Beale was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.23(a)(8), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 905492, citation number 01, item number 001 and was affirmed as a final order on 12/03/2013, with respect to a workplace located at the 9th Civil Engineering Squadron at Beale AFB, CA 95903.

The U.S. Air Force 60th Maintenance Squadron was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 191757, citation number 01, item number 002 and was affirmed as a final order on 08/22/2012, with respect to a workplace located at 501 Hangar Avenue Travis AFB,CA 94535.
