29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: Building 1, Prefab: 1) The chuck of the Hendey Lathe was not guarded. 2) The chuck key of the Hendey Lathe was not equipped with a spring. Building 2: 3) The unused section of the blade of the Doall Horizontal metal cutting Bandsaw was not guarded. 4) A rotating hub of the bandsaw was not guarded. 5) A back section of the unused part of the blade of the bandsaw was not guarded. 6) A section of the spoked bandsaw wheel of the bandsaw was not guarded. Building 4: 7) The chuck of the Warner and Swasey Lathe was not guarded. 8) The chuck key of the Warner and Swasey Lathe was not equipped with a spring. GLADDING-HEARN SHIPBUILDING WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD 1910.212(A)(1), WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION 312105596, CITATION 1 ITEM 2, ISSUED ON 10-06-2009, WITH A FINAL ORDER DATE OF 10-27-09.
