29 CFR 1926.601(b)(4): The employer had in use motor vehicle equipment having an obstructed view to the rear which did not have a reverse signal alarm audible above the surrounding noise level or an observer signaling it was safe to back up the vehicle. a) Garden State Parkway South, MP 91.4, @ Rt 88, Lakewood Twsp., NJ: On or about May 1, 2014, the employer had in use a motor vehicle, a 2012 Ford F450 masons dump truck, with an obstructed view to the rear. The vehicle did not have a functional reverse signal alarm and as such a pedestrian / worker was struck while a Midlantic Construction LLC employee was backing the vehicle.
