This violation was observed on or about May 22, 2014, in the shop area where employees were exposed to fall hazards when working on skids without guarding to protect employees from falling.       Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that every open sided floor or platform four feet or more above adjacent floors or ground levels is guarded.

This violation was observed on or about May 22, 2014, in the shop area where employees were exposed to a struck-by hazard when operating an iron worker punch press (Spartan) without a point of operation guard.       Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that guards are installed on all machines to protect employees from the point of operation.

This violation occurred on or about May 22, 2014, and at times prior thereto, when employees in the facility were required to handle hazardous chemicals without being trained on how to identify the hazard associated to those chemicals in accordance with the revised Hazard Communication Standard.      Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that all employees are trained on all hazards in their work area in accordance with the revised Hazard Communication Standard.
