29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): "Steep roofs." Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems with toe boards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. (a). At 6908 Sylvan Woods Drive, employees installing roof shingles on a 5:12 pitched roof were exposed to a fall hazard in that they were not using a conventional or alternative fall protection system to protect them from the 10-foot fall hazard from the edge of the roof to the ground below, on or about May 29, 2014.
