29 CFR 1910.23(c)(1):   Open-sided floors and/or platforms four feet or more above adjacent floor or ground level were not guarded with standard railings (or equivalent) and toeboards:    Work site located at 300 N. Main, Merriman, NE, north side of the concrete grain elevator:  A concrete platform and stair structure is not equipped with guardrails to prevent falls from the platform area.  The structure is between 50 and 52 inches above the ground below.      Abatement certification is required for this violation.  The abatement certification sheet is enclosed with the citations.

29 CFR 1910.23(d)(1):   Every flight of stairs having four or more risers was not equipped with standard stair railings or standard handrails as specified in paragraphs (d)(1)(i) through (v) of this section.      Work site located at 300 N. Main, Merriman, NE, north side of the concrete grain elevator:  A concrete stair structure is not equipped with stir railings or handrails as outlined in the standard.  In this case, there are not any type of railings at the identified location.     Abatement certification is required for this violation. 29 CFR 1910.272(j)(2)(ii):   The employer did not immediately remove any fugitive grain dust accumulations whenever the exceeded 1/8 inch (.32cm) at priority housekeeping areas, pursuant to the housekeeping program for grain elevators:  Work site located at 300 N. Main, Merriman, NE; throughout the facility:  The employer has failed to ensure that fugitive grain dust was kept below the septs of 1/8 inch in priority areas.  In the head house and the ground floor, within 35 feet of an inside bucket elevator, the depths ranged from 1/8th inch to as deep as 5 inches (in the corners on the floor).       Abatement certification and abatement documentation is required for this violation.  The documentation should include written verification of abatement, applicable measurements or monitoring results, and photographs or videos which you believe will be helpful.  The abatement certification sheet is enclosed with the citations.
