29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13):     "Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, personal fall arrest system or an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b).    The LUIS BECERRIL dba AURELIO BECERRIL was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 950812, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on June 3, 2014 with respect to a workplace located at 15 Miramar Court, Little Rock, AR 72223.    On or about , July 21, 2014, the employer did not ensure that each employee working and walking on a steep roof, with unprotected sides and edges were protected from falling from heights greater than 17 feet by a fall protection system.  The roof pitch measures 10:12.  Alternative fall protection system use not attempted.  Employees were exposed to fall hazards while performing roofing activities assigned by the employer.    Instance a:  An employee was installing a ridge board for the roof of a 3,500 square foot, residential home, while standing on a piece of scrap lumber attached to the roof framing. This practice exposed the employee to fall hazards greater than 22 feet to the unfinished floor below.    Instance b:   An employee was installing common rafter boards for the roof of a 3,500 square foot, residential home, while straddled over and sitting on the double top plate of the exterior wall framing. This practice exposed the employee to fall hazards greater than 12 feet to the unfinished ground below.
