29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): Eye and face protective equipment were not used when machines or operations presented potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents. (a) Top plate, new townhome construction located at 5205 Whiteoak Avenue, Smyrna, GA 30080: Employer was exposed to potential eye injuries while operating a Hitachi (Model NR83A-S1) Strip Framing Nail Gun without eye protection. The employer installing roof trusses with 3-inch plastic collated nails with the compressor air set at 120 PSI was not provided with safety glasses or goggles while operating these tools. Benito Rubio was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 954626, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 03/17/2014, with respect to a workplace located at 424 Wade Farm Drive, Powder Springs, GA 30127.
