OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: the employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: The company is using overhead hoists to maneuver various materials throughout the facility in the plasma area. The hook on the this hoist is missing the spring loading device and was bent out of shape on the safety latch necessary to ensure the load does not slip off of the hook during an unpredictable shift or stop of the equipment.
