29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) CONSANI re-winder did not have guards to protect the ingoing nip point at the front of the machine where rolls were being formed at the time of the inspection. b) CONSANI re-winder guard doors on the sides of the re-winder were not interlocked or secured at the time of the inspection. c) CONSANI re-winder did not have guards in place to protect the rotating parts on the back side of the re-winder at the time of the inspection. LITTLE RAPIDS CORPORATION WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD OR ITS EQUIVALENT STANDARD 1910.212(a)(1) WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 960098, CITATION NUMBER 01,ITEM NUMBER 001, AND WAS AFFIRMED AS A FINAL ORDER ON 4/7/2014, WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE AT 2970 WALKER DRIVE, GREEN BAY, WI 54311.
