29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes: a) In the Lamination Room, on or about August 21, 2014 - The employer did not select appropriate gloves for the Laminator to use while handling fiber board coated with Macroplast UR-8340. The selected gloves, Great Glove Nitrile Disposable gloves, do not adequately protect employee's hands from exposure to aromatic isocyanates. Hazardous components of Macroplast UR-8340 include methylenebis(phenylisocyanate) and isocyanic acid, polymethylenepolyphenylene ester.
