29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c): (a) Jobsite: On or about August 12, 2014, an employee was working in different locations in an excavation and he was not protected from a cave in. An employee was working in the northwest and southeast (water pump hoses) corners of the excavation and the sidewalls were up to 17 feet in height and were not sloped nor shored to meet 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c).
