29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1)(i): The employer did not compile a complete list of the hazardous chemicals known to be present using a product identifier that was referenced on the appropriate safety data sheet. (a) On or about September 9, 2014, at the VA Medical Center located at 1030 Jefferson Ave, Memphis, TN, the employer provided access and use by employees to ABC fire extinguishers (hazardous materials as a compressed gas) which are covered by the Hazard Communication Standard and did not maintain a current up to date chemical inventory list that reflected this material as being used on site. Without proper information on hazardous materials, employees could mis-handle hazardous materials and expose themselves to skin, eye, and respiratory irritations. Harbor Services, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.1200(e)(1)(I), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 905475, Citation Number 1, Item Number 1, issued on 06/18/2013, with respect to a workplace located at 1030 Jefferson Ave, Memphis, TN 38104. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).

29 CFR 1910.1200(g)(1): Employer did not have a safety data sheet in the workplace for each hazardous material which they use. a) On or about September 9, 2014, Harbor Services, Inc. employees, while working on the job site at 1030 Jefferson Ave, Memphis, TN, Emergency Room Renovation Project, were permitted to use (if necessary) Amerex ABC Portable Fire Extinguishers (compressed gas) for which the employer did not maintain a Safety Data Sheet on the job site. Without proper information on hazardous materials employees could mis-handle hazardous materials and expose themselves to bodily injury and various irritations both internal and external. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
