29 CFR 1910.179(j)(2): The following items were not be inspected for defects at intervals as defined in paragraph (j)(1)(ii) of this section or as specifically indicated, including observation during operation for any defects which might appear between regular inspections: (a) 7 Color Hy-Corr Area: Employees were exposed to overhead hazards as the Gorbel 2 ton capacity crane did not have frequent inspections which are at daily to monthly intervals. The inspections are to include inspecting for defects of the crane, hooks that have deformations or cracks, and hoist chains for excessive wear.
