Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices, electronic safety devices, etc.:    (a)  The point of operation guards on the Haas CNC Mill (Model 2, S/N 12654), on the Haas CNC Mill  (Model VN-3, S/N 1075530), on the Okuma CNC Lathe (Model Genos L300E-M, S/N 3EMY065) and on the Okuma CNC Lathe (Model Captain L370, S/N 3722060308) were not interlocked.    (b)  One of the windows on the Okuma CNC Lathe (Model Captain L370, S/N 3722060308) was shattered during production but had not been replaced.     (c)  The Haas CNC Mill  (Model VN-3, S/N 1075530) was sometimes operated with the side window open to accommodate larger parts.    (d)  The chucks on the two machine lathes (manual) were not guarded.        (e)  The blade on the Powermatic Vertical Band Saw was not adequately guarded, in that there were three inches of exposed blade running through the guide rolls.

They shall be of rigid construction and designed to be adjustable to compensate for wheel wear. Work rests shall be kept adjusted closely to the wheel with a maximum opening of one-eighth inch to prevent the work from being jammed between the wheel and the rest, which may cause wheel breakage.
