Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a. Located at the Park Crossing project in Gahanna, Ohio, an employee was working from a job-made platform without any means to protect the employee from a fall hazard, thereby exposing the employee to a fall hazard of approximately 9 feet, 8 inches.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): "Steep roofs." Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems with toe boards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a. Located on Building #2 at the Park Crossing project in Gahanna, Ohio, employees were performing sheathing work on the roof of an apartment building without being protected from a fall hazard, thereby exposing the employees to a fall hazard to a height of approximately 28 feet. Yaher Construction was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard ,1926.501(b)(13) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 532138, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on September 13, 2012, with respect to a workplace located at 796 Centerpark Drive in Westerville, Ohio 43082.
