29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet or more above lower levels was not protected by guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems, nor was an alternative fall protection measure provided. (a)Family Construction, Inc. @ 2980 N. Syracuse St., Denver, CO 80238: On and before December 3rd, 2014, the employer did not ensure that fall protection systems were utilized by employees engaged in framing activities while working at the unprotected edges of a multi-family residence. Specifically, two employees were observed performing work associated with framing (one setting a frame at the roofs edge with a hammer, the other controlling a crane with a portable device to bring materials unto the roof) without fall protective measures in place. The condition exposed the employees to fall heights up to 35 feet.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(2)(iii): The employer did not provide adequate training regarding the use and operation of guardrail systems, personal fall arrest systems, safety net systems, warning line systems, safety monitoring systems, controlled access zones, and other protection to be used; (a)Family Construction Inc. @ 2980 N. Syracuse St., Denver, CO 80238; On and before December 3rd, 2014, the exposing employer failed to adequately train his employees in the use and operation of fall protective systems, specifically when setting roof trusses on a flat working surface. Employees were exposed to fall hazards of 35 feet as they moved material onto a working deck and manually adjusted the position of roof trusses.
