29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2): The employer did not initiate and maintain a safety program which provides for frequent and regular inspections of jobsites, materials, and equipment to be made by a competent person (i.e., a person who is capable of identifying existing and predictable hazards in the surroundings or working conditions which are unsanitary, hazardous, or dangerous to employees, and who has the authority to take prompt corrective measures to eliminate them): (a) Reitz Roofing Inc, at 1020 W Century Drive, Louisville, CO: On and preceding 12/04/14, Reitz Roofing Inc did not initiate and maintain a safety program which provides for frequent and regular inspections of jobsites, materials, and equipment to be made by a competent person. Reitz Roofing Inc directed People's Choice Roofing LLC to replace the roof of a multistory building. The workers were exposed to fall hazards. Reitz Roofing Inc did not perform inspections of the worksite and equipment. This condition exposed People's Choice Roofing LLC workers to an approximate nine foot fall hazard.
