(a) Employees were exposed to eye hazards while operating rivet machines and the employer did not ensure that all affected employees wore proper eye protection.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): Point(s) of operation of machinery were not guarded to prevent employee(s) from having any part of their body in the danger zone(s) during operating cycle(s): (a) Employees were exposed to amputation hazards while operating the Chicago Rivet & Machine riveter (Machine #912-7298) and the employer did not ensure the point of operation was properly guarded. (b) Employees were exposed to amputation hazards while operating the National Rivet & Mfg. riveter (Model #600 & Serial #978) and the employer did not ensure the point of operation was properly guarded. (c) Employees were exposed to amputation hazards while operating the National Rivet & Mfg. riveter (Model #600 & Serial #2087) and the employer did not ensure the point of operation was properly guarded. (d) Employees were exposed to amputation hazards while operating the Chicago Rivet & Machine riveter (Machine #555-885) and the employer did not ensure the point of operation was properly guarded. (e) Employees were exposed to amputation hazards while operating the Chicago Rivet & Machine riveter (Machine #913-1308) and the employer did not ensure the point of operation was properly guarded. (f) Employees were exposed to amputation hazards while operating the Thomson riveter (Model & Serial number could not be located) and the employer did not ensure the point of operation was properly guarded.
