29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation shall be protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with paragraph (b) or (c) of this section: a) Adjacent Highway 301, Statesboro GA - On or about January 29, 2014, the foreman along with employees accessed and performed work within an excavation 8-foot deep without cave-in protection, exposing employees to struck-by and cave-in hazards. The Tyson Utilities Construction, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.652 (a) (1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 863383, citation 2, item number 2 and was affirmed as final order August 19, 2013, with respect to workplace located at Hwy 82, Hinesville, GA 31313.
