Protective equipment, including personal protective equipment for eyes, face, head, and extremities, protective clothing, respiratory devices, and protective shields and barriers, shall be provided, used, and maintained in a sanitary and reliable condition wherever it is necessary by reason of hazards of processes or environment, chemical hazards, radiological hazards, or mechanical irritants encountered in a manner capable of causing injury or impairment in the function of any part of the body through absorption, inhalation or physical contact.    WORKSHOP: The employee, required to perform a routine task of filling small spray bottles with water, WD-40 and alcohol from one-gallon container was neither provided with nor required to wear tight fitting goggles and/or other appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while performing the task.    On/or about January 13,2015, the WD-40 solution splashed and got into the employee's eyes and mouth while performing the above task, and the employee sustained in an irritation and discomfort from the incident.    ABATED DURING THE INSPECTION.
