29 CFR 1926.651(i)(3): Sidewalks, pavements, or appurtenant structures had been undermined and a support system or another method was not provided to protect employees from the possible collapse of such structures: On or about October 6, 2014: a) An employee was injured when the concrete sidewalk he was operating equipment on broke away, causing the equipment in use to fall into the open excavation. The employer failed to ensure that a support system was in place to protect employees from such a collapse from occurring.
