D-11). a) In the planer mill: On March 3, 2015 and at times prior thereto, the employer exposed workers to fall hazards of up to 8 feet 9 inches, in that a fixed ladder was positioned at approximately 70 degrees from horizontal, as employees accessed an upper platform to change filters and repair/replace motors, among other duties.

29 CFR 1910.265(c)(5)(ii): Stairways were not provided with a standard handrail on at least one side or on any open side: a) At the rear pump-return stairway of the planer mill: On March 3, 2015 and at times prior thereto, the employer exposed workers to fall hazards of up to 8 ft. 9 in., in that standard handrails were not provided on open sides as employees accessed the upper platform to change filters and repair/replace motors, among other duties. Gilman Building Products, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, 1910.23(d)(1)(iii), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 921732, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on Feb. 10, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at 173 Peachtree Rd., Fitzgerald, GA 31750.
