29 CFR 1910.141(a)(5): Enclosed workplace(s) were not so constructed, equipped, and maintained to prevent the entrance or harborage of rodents, insects, or other vermin. A continuing and effective extermination program was not instituted where rodents, insects or other vermin were detected: a) On or about March 17, 2015 in buildings 40, 354, 356, 357, 2065 and 2067, it was determined that birds had infested and were nesting in these buildings, which were used for storage. Employees of Defense Logistics Agency were exposed to excrement, feathers, and nesting materials from various species of birds, which potentially exposed employees to possible zoonotic diseases such as, but not limited to hystoplasmosis, crytococcosis, avian influenza and chlamydiosis.
