29 CFR 1910.334(a)(2)(i): Portable cord and plug connected equipment and flexible cord sets (extension cords) were not visually inspected before use on any shift for external defects (such as loose parts, deformed and missing pins, or damage to outer jacket or insulation) and for evidence of possible internal damage (such as pinched or crushed outer jacket).  Meat processing area; on or about 24 March 2015 and times prior thereto; three instances were noted where the electrical power cords were damaged:       a. Meat wrapping area; a 120 volt Hobart brand, Commercial Food Preparing Machine (meat slicer), Model 2912, Serial number 56-1312-183, had damage to the protective outer jacket on the power cord.        b. Meat grinding area; a Hercules Foot Switch, Cat No 531-SWH, serial number unknown; had damage to the protective outer jacket on the power cord.  Foot switch is used to operate meat grinder.         c. Meat grinding area; a 200V Hollymatic GMG 180A, meat grinder, Serial number 6428 5411, had damage to the protective outer jacket on the power cord.   This condition exposed employees to an electrical shock and electrical burn hazards.
